Coming Soon: GenoRisk Alzheimer’s Genetic Test

GenoRisk is a polygenic test evaluating both risk and protective genes for non-familial Alzheimer’s disease. The test report will provide:

  • Your overall genetic risk score, including your protective and risk genes

  • How your genetic risk score compares to the 1000 Genomes population study

  • How your risk for Alzheimer’s will change as you age, based on your gender at birth, age, and protective and risk genes (including ApoE)

  • Your ApoE genotype

Know your risk

GenoRisk Alzheimer’s Genetic Test evaluates both risk and protective genes identified in research to influence non-familial Alzheimer’s disease risk. The test does not look for the genes associated with the rare form of early-onset familial Alzheimer’s disease (PSEN1, PSEN2, or APP) that track in families and tend to occur at a very young age.

With knowledge comes power… the power to act and the power to plan. Learning about genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease isn’t for everyone, but if you are a proactive person who wants to be able to impact your future health as much as possible, then identifying your risk level for Alzheimer’s disease may be a good fit. Having a reason to follow a set of lifestyle changes makes it easier to stick with it on those difficult days when you lack motivation. Learning your genetic risk for Alzheimer’s disease may be your first step towards protecting your future self.

This test looks at the influence of 31 protective and risk SNP’s, including ApoE, on non-familial Alzheimer’s disease. The report provides your GenoRisk score for non-familial Alzheimer’s disease, and how your GenoRisk score compares to the population studied. In addition, a probability of Alzheimer’s disease development based on genetics, age, and gender at birth is provided.
